GROWING THE POEM
Through the reading of published poems and daily writing prompts, we’ll explore strategies for developing fragments and stalled beginnings into actual poems, writing longer and more complex poems, and moving your work into more exciting aesthetic and emotional territory. This workshop should give you at least the beginnings of four new poems, and/or transformations of old poems. For class discussion, you may share work begun during the week, unfinished poems or fragments, or more or less completed poems that don’t yet satisfy you.
